I am PLSCITT Administrator and work at The Hollins where I also provide admin support for the East Lancashire Teaching School Alliance (ELTSA). My main duties are to co-ordinating interviews, ensure compliance with DFE, liaising with our school partners, tracking attendance, sourcing placements and being the main day to day contact for our trainees. In addition I provide support for the Teaching School and support the delivery of cpd, school to school support and arrange school experience. I complete all the administrative tasks for the NQT Appropriate Body which allows me to follow the careers of our trainees as they complete their NQT year and progress into their careers, that is the best part of my job!
We have an open door policy and I enjoy hearing from our trainees and their many tales from the classroom!
Johnathan Findlay-Pidcock, ELIP School Direct
As Teaching School Business Support Lead, I have overall responsibility for finance, administration and marketing of the School Direct programme. I joined Tor View in 2017, and bring a wide range of experience in school and retail administration as well as being a qualified teacher myself. My role at Tor View includes managing our Outreach and School-to-School Support services, providing administrative support to our wider contributions at both regional and national level including government funded projects in addition to overseeing all aspects of our School Direct programme. This includes recruitment of new trainees, sourcing placements, liaising with partners, organising lectures and providing support to all stakeholders.
I work closely with James and Danny to ensure that we deliver best value for our students and, as a qualified teacher, I have first-hand experience of training to teach and the pressures and expectations of Initial Teacher Training courses. We know that quality of delivery is important, so we spend more of your money ensuring face to face PgCE delivery on site. We know that you need a variety of learning opportunities, so we offer a programme of ELIP modules in addition to your core curriculum that we know will benefit you and provides you with the opportunity to gain specialist knowledge in areas that interest you. We know it’s the little things that count, which is why we provide £1 vouchers each day you are on-site for you to use towards your lunch or a drink from the Garage Café, located next door to our Conference Room facilities. We also provide some appropriate resources and stationery throughout the course and we know that a full day of lectures can be long, which is why we provide an endless supply of tea and coffee (and biscuits!).
I’m proud to be part of PLSCITT and of the quality of the ITT courses that we deliver, and I hope that your journey to a new career starts here, with us, at Tor View.
