Shortlisted applicants are invited to attend an assessment day at The Hollins or one of our partner schools.  Candidates will usually take part in:

 

  • a written assessment – this is for us to assess your literacy skills
  • a mini-teach – this will be in subject area and usually lasts 20 minutes, this is for us to assess how you interact with young people
  • a subject audit – this is for us to assess if you you need further development and may ask you to complete a SKE (Subject Knowledge Enhancement course)
  • a panel interview

UPDATE – During the pandemic all our interviews arre being held on Zoom, you will still take part in the same assessment activities we use in our face-to-face days
